One day that you should not miss at school is UN Day (United Nations.) This all day event joins all of our nationalities in our school as one. I guess I don't realize how many diversities we have until I see all of them in their cultural outfits. This day we get to dress up and represent our Nations. Don't get me wrong, there's a whole lot of Asians, but different kinds of Asians. Ahh.... ^^
You know, seeing everyone in their "pretty" outfits made me kind of sad that as an American, we don't have an "outfit" of our own. What do we wear? It was quite difficult to think of. Then, the Hubby simply suggested: T-shirts and Jeans. There we go. T-shirts and Jeans. Of course, our little one has to look cute in the process. She purchased a cute little American Flag barrette to put in her hair. She wore her a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a red sweater. "Way to go honey, represent American!" Next year, I will have the little one wear her Chinese outfit and walk as an American. After all, she is an ABC just like Mom!
For Mama, the highlight of the day was the vast variety of different foods, drinks and treats! uh yeah! "HELLO!" I said out loud to myself as I watched the PTA set up the food tables. Mmm... Mmmm.. mMmm... delish! I don't have much to say, but it's better to just see for yourself.
